Waipi'o Valley Horseback Riding

my brother-in-law and i went horseback riding in waipi'o valley while my husband and sister went wagon riding.

waipi'o valley has an interesting history. it is surrounded by very high cliffs on three sides and the ocean on the fourth. a tsunami hit there in 1946 and killed thousands of native people. after that most left, but afterwards the government built a very steep road out of the valley--only can be used by vehicle with four wheel drive in case another tusnami comes. many taro farms in the valley and the outside, by the ocean gets 100 inches of rain a year and the inside gets 200.

with very slow internet connection and short turns on my husband's computer, i am not able to comment much. will make up for it when we return.
