Today we walked a mile up a steep hill to visit the Prior Park gardens in Bath, where there is a famous Palladian Bridge, one of only four left in the world. Prior Park was built by and for Ralph Allen, a well-known figure from Bath's history - and British history, for it was Allen who reformed the previously-unreliable postal system, making his first fortune in doing so.

Allen used his wealth to buy two stone quarries, which provided the stone for the buildings of Georgian Bath, making him a second fortune.

There must be hundreds, more likely thousands, of photos of the bridge, so I've tried to take something less obvious.
