Yet Another Gloomy Summer's Day

Still, it's not as bad as the summer ten years ago when we had less than a day's sunshine spread over six or seven weeks. That summer for my birthday my son took us on a day trip to the West Coast, where the sun was shining. It was all bright colours and hard edges.

I drove past the old quarry today and felt rather sad. Not only does it have a blipper-proof fence now, but they are using it as a rubbish dump.
