the group ride...

today's ride was different from other days - in many ways. For the starters, today's was a big group (11). Many people from my office decided to wake up early on a Saturday morning and join the ride. Looks like all the propaganda we're doing in favour of bicycling is working. For some of them, this was the maiden ride. I think the "easy off-road ride" clicked with people. After a few adjustments to the bikes in the morning, we started a little later than planned originally - but that was something expected with a big group. We rode on the tracks, through the bushes, under the bridge, through the village, by the lake. Nobody was in a hurry - the idea was to have a relaxed and enjoyable ride. One of the guys got a flat and I decided to stay back with him, as the rest of the group went ahead. While he was fixing the flat, I decided to go up to the nearby lake. I took some pictures of the bridge and the group but I liked this one the most from today. This one cost me loads of mud on both the tyres and a flat in the front wheel - I am not explaining :) At least, today I learnt how to change the tube and fix punctured tube. A cool 44km leisurely ride!

Plan for the evening is quite different. Plan to go for classical Indian music concert featuring Ustad Zakir Hussain himself. He is one of the most internationally celebrated Tabla player of India. I've not heard him live in the past but whatever shows I've seen on the TV, they are just great! I bought tickets for this more than a month ago :)

have a great weekend ahead

bigger is better.
