Welcome to the world Lola!
Well, the waiting continued through the night and all morning....had a lot of distracting to do with K who couldn't focus on anything or settle her nerves (very hard being the granny at a distance!). We sat in the sun and tried to plan our upcoming holiday in the USA, but didn't get far, and then the kids came round and we had another chat and catch up-it's hard not seeing them very often.
Had bad news from a colleague about someone in our group that had all met 6 years ago when we were on a training course together. Out of the 16 of us who keep in regular touch and still meet up, 5 have recently been very ill, 4 with cancer. Today I heard that the second of those with cancer died yesterday, only a month after the first one. Terribly sad, we'll miss him.
No news of the baby before I had to get the train from MK, but at tea time the news finally came through-Lola had arrived healthy and straightforwardly (despite lengthy labour) and we (especially K and Lola's parents!) are entering a new phase...shame I couldn't be there to open the Veuve we'd had on ice all weekend.
Quite a day...
