Winging me home

Isn't flight astonishing? That thin silver wing generating all that lift to keep us cutting through the air at something like 28,000 feet - amazing.

It's even more amazing when it's taking me home after two weeks in Shetland.

The weather was fog again today - so I arrived in Aberdeen so late that I had no chance of getting down to Lancashire that night by train.

I could not face waiting till the next day before getting home so I just booked a ticket and jumped on a plane. What a relief to get home!
