Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

The Pier at Sunset

If you look close, you'll see the silhouette of the pier. That pier has been standing against the waves since 1875.

Currently it is in need of some serious repair, so the majority of the pier is fenced and off-limits to the public. The citizens of and frequent visitors to this little community are doing a super-sized job of raising the funds to do the restoration.

This community has a unique culture of ranching and surfing. It's a step back in time. Matter of fact, Mr. Fun and I refer to this place as the town that time forgot. Nothing and no one here is in a hurry. Some wear Stetsons and others wear wetsuits. Everyone drives a pick-up! Okay, that is a bit of an exaggeration.

Cayucos occupies a pristine coastline that sprawls from Morro Strand State Beach on the south to the wind swept tops of the Estero Bluffs on the north.

I really enjoy this view from the little beach lookout that is just several blocks down the gently slooping hill from our humble little shack, that we affectionally call "Hank's House."

Good Night from California's Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
