Piwakawaka

This afternoon I had to take the work car down to the garage. I took my camera with me hoping to get a photo opportunity on the walk back.

This fantail (piwakawaka is its indigenous name) obliged by darting about a bush at the gas station. He very kindly obliged by pausing for a moment and even had his tail partly spread.

You'll note that there's minimal blue in today's sky. Sadly nothing like yesterday - the cloud really didn't lift at all.
