Gardening Disaster
This is a small corner of our back garden which should be reaching it's peak by now, but the lobelia didn't seem to be doing very well. The antirrhinums were virtually non-existent and the cosmos were looking very sad indeed. I just couldn't understand it. It all seemed to be dying. I blamed the numerous slugs and snails that we get here. I was going to write to Gardener's World about it.
Then came a confession from my wife, Hilary. She had tidied up the shed and found a spray bottle with some water in it. Rather than waste the "water" she poured it on the garden. It was my fault. It was weed killer, but I hadn't marked the container. It was one of those jobs that I meant to get round to doing. Doh.
