Cormorant
Today was a holiday for me, so been doing some DIY around the house. This morning I popped over to the Ardgowan Estate to take some shots by the river edge. While I was standing by some trees, I noticed a Cormorant had just landed on this rock. It was very obliging, as it then started to stretch out its wings to dry.
I think the Cormorant is an amazing waterbird, it has an almost primitive appearance with its long neck making it appear almost reptilian. Definitely a bird designed for catching fish.
Later we are going down to Nardini's in Largs to get some fish and chips and ice cream. Nice way to finish a long weekend.
Many thanks for getting my Cloch Lighthouse shot into the Spotlight.
