May Island puffins

Had an early start this morning to get the ferry to May Island. We were told that it would be a wonderful days for sea birds and indeed we were not disappointed. Here you see a few of the 45,000 breading pairs of puffins. The sky was almost black with birds overhead - I would recommend a visit to all who can make it to the East Coast of Scotland. The new visitors centre was just opened last week and has been worth the wait.
