Strange visitor on the Seedlings

Although I am late getting these seedlings of "The Poet's Flower" or tassel flower plugged into the ground I came out on the deck this afternoon to check on them since the weather is quite warm (85º) and here was this strange visitor just communing with the poet.. or perhaps this is a poet insect.
I do not recognize it.
Any ideas? Seems long legged and fancy for a fly.
