Having met friend Gill in Glasgow this morning to have coffee and cake (or, in my case, scone and jam) in John Lewis, I enjoyed a reunion in Drymen this afternoon with Maud, a young-enough-to-be-my-daughter French girl who came and worked in The Winnock Hotel as a student for several years in the mid-noughties. It was a period when lots of folk used to come into the library (where I worked) to use t'internet and we got to know Maud quite well.

We met in The Pottery and caught up over tea. No cake or scones that time.
