My 40th year

Service please!

This was Hooch, a Dogue de Bordeaux who was my 2nd largest patient today, weighing in at a mere 65kg. Jake the Great Dane was 85kg and his owner genuinely didn't understand why a) he needed 4 of each tablet and b ) why an antibiotic course cost so much for his mini horse! I patiently explained that the majority of dogs we see are under 20kg and it surely wasn't a surprise that a Great Dane had achieved it's growing potential!

Unfortunately the quality of this snap is terrible, I had to whip my phone out of my pocket before his owner told him to get down. Hooch is such a nice dog with a gentle temperament, his owner attributes it to mollycoddling him since he was a puppy, not a bad thing in this case.
