Torch Lily

Evergreen perennial that grow in clumps. Common names are Tritoma, Torch Lily or Red Hot Poker due to the shape and color of its inflorescence (scientific name:Kniphofia Uvaria).

Interesting facts
Native to Cape Province of South Africa. The flowers can used for food, and are reported to taste like honey! An infusion of the roots has been used as a traditional medicine to treat or relieve symptoms of chest disorders.
