Flax 'n things

Almost out of nowhere the Flax has produced a mighty flower spike which I am sure was not there a few days ago. Making up the numbers are Petunia and Geranium flowers. I am now thinking of Creosoting the fence and watching it dry rather than risk the torment of watching another England World Cup game.
