Peace in the shade

This was down at the Hospital of St Cross ("England's most perfect almshouse" according to Simon Jenkins!) attached to the magnificent St Cross Church. It has a gloriously peaceful garden and is set in water meadows by the Itchen. This is the 'compost and nettles' bit of the grounds and I'm blipping it because I love the feeling that time just stopped for a few minutes on this hot afternoon to allow the gardener his tea break..
