A trip to the past...
Last week-end we took a few steps back in time and journeyed to the farm of my husband's grandparents. The purpose of our trip was to inter the ashes of my mother in law at a small rural cemetery in the farming community that held her heart. It was for me such a dramatic shift in landscapes going from the mountains and lakes to wheat fields where you could see for 30 some miles in any direction. We rekindled old friendships and got reacquainted with our "roots". It was an amazing experience that I will backblip in the next few days. A completely unexpected gift from one of the neighbors was this Brownie camera from around 1900. Just holding it in my hands makes me feel a connection to the past. While there I took photographs with my digital Nikon and my Yashica D film camera from the 50's.
Thank you those of you who wondered if all was well as lagged behind in posting. I hope to catch up soon on my journal and yours too!
