The Causeway, Chalkwell.

I walked to the beach this afternoon while my son was playing tennis.

The tide was very far out so my daughter and I walked out along The Causeway.

I've never walked out that far and was surprised when we got to a wooden bridge going over one of the channels which was filling up with the incoming tide.

I was quite intrigued as to what the causeway and bridge were for and the only information I can find on google is that they were built to enable the bathing machines to get people out to the sea at low tide.
