Orihuela

The Christian/Moorish town of Orihuela seems to have more culture than the rest of the Costa Blanco. Visited 30 or more ancient churches and temples (though disappointingly all closed) and felt this was the Spain so sadly missing from the coastal tourist destinations.

Got lost in the mountains on the way back in the dark as my keen sense of direction brought me to a deserted cul de sac lane instead of Alicante.....just saying
