Baton Bearers
The last leg of today's Commonwealth Games' baton relay through Clackmannanshire snaked its way through our village, about to be carried by these eleven smiley faced (but possibly slightly apprehensive) worthies. It looked like most of the village had lined the streets, despite the threat of rain, to cheer all on as I sneaked on to the minibus just before the first of them headed off to face the crowds and the cameras.
Had spent some of the day chasing the baton around the rest of the county, with Heather in tow, as it zig zagged back and forward to try and give everyone a chance of seeing it. One of the great advantages of it being the 'Wee' County was that it managed to visit nearly every town and village, and we managed to follow it (much easier) on bike. There was a great buzz around the whole spectacle, great to see and to experience, and I'm sure a never-to-be-forgotten experience for all this lot here. Well done all.
Well done to Euan too, with another couple of medals picked up at the County Schools Sport's Day - bronze for the 100m relay and a gold for javelin (only a school ruler and a bit short of the existing school record with that one). Well chuffed he was, as were we.
After all that, I had an evening spent scratching the emulsion off of individual 16mm film frames with a surgical scalpel at a very interesting and entertaining animated sound workshop, trying to make something that didn't sound like a dog with bad flatulence. Only somewhat successful with that.
Now just about managing to post before midnight.
The days are just packed...
