Milkweed

I found this in a bale of hay. It is so beautiful yet quite toxic to horses. In my flower gardens I let it grow because it is beneficial for the birds. I am fascinated by this plant. I am glad that our horses aren't. They just toss it aside (for the birds, perhaps?).
