History Lesson

These are some old children's encyclopaedias that belonged to my father. I'm not sure where he got them, or when. There's no date on them, but they appear to be from the 1940's, or there about.

They're quite un PC (there's a chapter trying to explain "why black people are so uncivilised" !?), but it's interesting (and humorous!) to see how the world and it's people were viewed all those years ago.

The old wooden pull toy was 'rescued' from a second hand shop a few months ago.
