Well I Be Doggoned!

I visited Mother at Broomfield hospital in Chelmsford and as I left I saw another sundog! That's two within a week in Chelmsford. I Blipped the first on 19th June with an explanation of the phenomenon.

I couldn't take my eyes off it as I drove home and stopped along the way to try to get a photograph. When I got to North Weald the sky was looking quite dramatic. I could now see the sun in the middle and a sundog or parhelion on each side. A first for me. If you look carefully at my pic you can see two faint spectra near the outer edges of the image. Difficult to capture as I was shooting directly into the sun.
