Cheese
This is not entirely unrelated to yesterday's Journal, about Dreams. Someone commented that dreams can be nightmares too - and cheese often can be the cause, especially eaten late at night.
This is a daily Journal of things that happen in my life - one of the best things I experience, usually in the early morning, is reading the Journal of my Blipdog friend Tussock of Tussock Tales. Tuss is an Irish Wheaten from New Zealand and her tales are hilarious. If you have not read them I encourage you to spend some time with some of the entries. There are some fantastic photos too from Wanaka, South Island - a truly spectacular place, second only to Scotland for beauty!
Anyway, Tuss commented this morning on my poetry and said that dogs are only interested in poetry about cheese - so, here we are.
Cheese
Cheese, so lovely and fragrant, so strong and intense,
Colours aplenty, red, white and blue – and some green!
You raise so many feelings, from longing to dislike,
Surely everyone, everywhere, will find one that they like.
You should come with a warning, too much is not good,
Last thing at night, dreams and nightmares can come.
Best with some crackers, though raw can be best,
Friends, and some dogs, gather round you and drool.
I am off to have cheese and crackers for my elevenses - have a good day.
