Modern Times

When I was young (I thing it's at least the second blip this week I’ve started with those lines)….. anyway, when I was young there were relatively few places to go out to eat. Unless you were in a big city you would probably have gone to a pub for a steak or mixed grill, with a prawn cocktail as starter and maybe a black forest gateaux (very exotic) to finish. Apart from the limited choice of venue the menus tended to be limited too. Over the years things have changed massively and now having decided to go out to eat it’s difficult to make a decision about where to go, there’s so much choice.

This row of restaurants/fast food outlets has just opened about two miles away from where we live. It replaced a pub which was demolished to make way for these six eateries.
