Second day in Playa Blanca
Today we enjoyed our second day in Playa Blanca, after a rather painful night of sunburn rubbing against sand covered hammocks, before getting the bus back to our hostel at 3pm. It was a really relaxing morning, although we were desperately shade seeking after the sun burn incident yesterday! Had a lovely chat to the family as it was mum's birthday (trying to sing happy birthday down the phone with an incredible lag is somewhat difficult...), followed by this tasty lunch of mixed seafood rice, made with seafood caught that morning. Yum yum yum :)
We arrived back at the hostel, applied half a bottle of after sun and then went out to our favourite restaurant - Crepes! They have a lovely garden area that was full last time we went, but we managed to get a table this time. So peaceful! At night, Cartagena has loads of horse drawn carriages giving city tours. We had always looked at these and assumed they would be ridiculously expensive, but tonight we thought we would ask just in case. Turns out it only costs £15 for the long tour... so we went for it and had a lovely carriage ride around the centre. A great way to finish the day.
