Mustang

Headed into deepest Sussex this afternoon for a Ford driving event combined with a day tomorrow at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. There was an interesting line-up of cars for us to try: Fiestas and a Focus with the terrific three-cylinder 1-litre EcoBoost motor that has just won the Engine of the Year award for the third time. There were also some wonderfully preserved classics from Ford's heritage collection, including a Lotus Cortina and Escort Mexico.

Sadly this gorgeous beast was only for static view, as it has just been lovingly restored and is still undergoing final finishing. It's a fabulous 1965 Mustang, and I was delighted to discover that it was parked right under my hotel room window. What a sight to greet me tomorrow morning when an early alarm call will hopefully ensure I get to Goodwood ahead of the horrendous FoS traffic!
