Rain, Rain, go away....

Why does it always seem like when the Peonies bloom it rains? Then after we pick them up and dry them off to stand forth in the sun, they get cut down in rain once again. We had a lot of rain last night went out to walk the dogs and found all but two blossoms lying in a pile of petals, it looked like a snow drift. I thought the inner structure of the flower had its own beauty.
