Big Sing in the Garden at REH
Big Sing Groups sang some songs, then everyone invited to singalong. Tea and cake and more singing along with a walk around the artwork, plants and flowers. Good day for those participating today even for me a person off tune!
Artwork in progress was an aerial photo of the car-park which used to be part of the gardens and it was getting brightly coloured flowers cut out and stuck all over it.
Spoke to a lady who had come thru from Glasgow especially to sing, thank you for your chat and chum to bus stop. :-)))
Garden Song by Dave Mallet 1978
Chorus:
Inch by inch, row by row,
Gonna make the garden grow.
Gonna mulch it deep and low,
Gonna make it fertile ground.
Inch by inch, row by row,
Please bless these seeds I sow.
Please keep them safe below,
'Til the rain comes tumbling down.
Pullin weeds and pickin' stones,
We are made of dreams and bones
Need a spot to call my own
Cause the time is close to hand.
Grain for grain, sun and rain
I'll find my way in nature's chain
Tune my body and my brain
To the music of the land.
Chorus
Plant you rows straight and long,
Season them with a prayer and song
Mother earth will keep you strong
If you give her love and care.
Old crow watching from a tree
Has his hungry eyes on me
In my garden I'm as free
As that feathered thief up there.
Chorus.
