SS Peter and Mary Magdalene
Fordham, Cambridgeshire Thursday 13 May 2010. Cheating here instead of backdating. Bells: 8, 15-0-10 (767kg) in F. map ref. TL633707 .
I was reminiscing a bit and thinking about what I would blip today. Thursday is (still I expect) practice night at this tower. Roger Palmer was tower captain when I went there regularly to practice nights over twenty years ago; he was still tower captain in 2010. His wife, Rosemary, died a couple of years ago. She was an accomplished ringer too.
I lived in a village then where the bells were unringable but which were restored and rung before I left Hockwold-cum-Wilton in 1992. I made the most of my limited time (three years) back in England ringing at practice nights nearly every day of the week. Diss, Burwell, Lakenheath, Mildenhall, Dickleburgh and Sundays at Brandon.
If I take any pictures today I will post the better ones on the other place.
Meanwhile USA goes forward in the World Cup based on goal differential. Seem to be far more fouls and rolling on the ground than I seem to remember from way back when ...
Yesterday I did not forget.
Edit 17:00 AZ time (GMT -7hrs) Accompanied Kathy for lunch at Trail Riders. Smoke in the sky beyond Green's Peak. 311info Dubbed the San Juan fire. So I did take a few more pictures to post on Flickr
