Part two of a series.

We have had our awards ceremony at work today.

It is great to be able to recognise and reward our very best students and Dan fits the bill perfectly.

He has been through the mill this academic year.

He spent about half the year in hospital where he was very ill for some time.

But while he was there he kept in constant contact with me to get work and send assignments to me.
We used email, phone and Skype (the latter we installed at Dan's request).

He has never complained and always kept a positive outlook.

He never lost sight of his goal, which was to complete the course with top grades.

He achieved it!

His face when I showed him his grade on the computer was a joy to see.

Today Dan was named the overall sports student of the year, unanimously agreed by all the tutors.

I'm sorry we both look so miserable in the photo :)
