Newton Dovecot
Next to the site of a house owned by the Tresham family in the village of Newton in Northamptonshire this dovecot looks more like a barn but is thought to be the biggest dovecot in England. The house, in whose gardens the Gunpowder plot was supposed ot be hatched, fell down long ago but the dovecot stands sentinel on the top of the rise. I ducked down under the lintel of the low door and looking back saw my blip for the day. As the late afternoon light came through the doorway and partially lit up the ancient wooden door hanging off its hinges and some of the roosting boxes, I took several shots experimenting with exposure and angle, I liked this one best despite the slight flare.
