Ah Sunday evening culinary delights!
Some of my favourite food?Egg Toasties and Baked Beans Toasties.
To prepare, you?ll need the following ingredients:
- 8 slices of bread (Kingsmill White);
- Butter (Lurpak);
- 2 Eggs;
- 200g Baked Beans (MUST be Heinz);
- Cheese (Cheddar).
Egg Toastie Procedure:
1. Plug in the toastie maker for a medium heat;
2. While waiting for the toastie maker to heat up, spread the Lurpak evenly over one side of the bread;
3. Wait to the ?Green Light? to come on, and place two slices of bread, with the buttered side out, on the toastie maker;
4. With a blunt implement (e.g., a spoon) carefully press the bread into the toasting plates to make a nice dimple (so the egg doesn?t run out);
5. Crack an egg into a mug (or similar vessel) and then carefully pour onto the bread already in the toastie maker, making sure you evenly divide the yolk over the two halves of the triangular cutters;
6. Repeat for the second egg;
7. Place another two slices of bread on to with the butter outwards;
8. Close the toastie maker and wait for 3-5 minutes until golden brown;
9. Plate up the toasties and add garnish (e.g., a Corona beer).
Baked Beans Toastie Procedure
1. Repeat steps 1 ? 4 above;
2. While waiting for the toastie maker to heat up, place a 200g ?SnackPot? of beans in the microwave for 1 minute;
3. Remove beans from microwave and carefully drain excess tomato sauce (you don?t want your toastie to become too soggy;
4. Pour beans evenly onto the bread;
5. Add cheese to taste (lots!);
6. Place another two slices of bread on to with the butter outwards;
7. Close the toastie maker and wait for 3-5 minutes until golden brown;
8. Plate up the toasties and add garnish (I would recommend a Peroni to go with beans).
ENJOY!
