Rose-ringed parakeet

At this time of year, when the fruit trees behind our house are covered with immature fruits, these noisy green birds take up residence for a few weeks.

The trees are not ours, they are in the garden of an old disused farmhouse.

I don't know the history of this house, no-one lives in the main part of the building, originally a barn directly attached to a small house.

In most of these buildings the barn has been at least partially converted to make a large luxurious house but for whatever reason this one stands empty.

From time to time people come to cut down the weeds which cover beneath the fruits trees but apart from these birds no one else come to pick the fruit.

The birds are great to watch but very noisy
