Cotton Grass
Having picked up a rather hyper Labrador from the kennels a walk on the Moors was required to restore equilibrium.
The Hole of Horcum is a great place to allow Jet to run of some energy. We started by descending into the bowl before climbing into a small valley which is little walked in its upper reaches and so we have named it the Secret Valley. In contrast to the main track where the sheep largely ignore us here they seem to take exception to being disturbed, scattering and bleating for their lambs to follow.
Some of the early flowering heathers added a splash of purple but I was struck by the Cotton Grass waving in the breeze. One or two of the seeds were trying to disengage themselves and float off on the breeze.
