The Hoppings

Claimed to be the largest travelling fair gathering in the world. It has been on the Newcastle Town Moor for 130 years apart from last year when there was a dispute between the showmen and the council. It is back this year and appears to be as big as ever.

Traditionally it starts to rain as they start to set up and stops as they pack up. This year it's been dry (so far)! I'm sure it will not be as exciting if you're not up to your knees in mud.
