Life's lesson from a lawnmower
Little TMG loves lawnmowers. He is obsessed and no matter what the season, he will pull out his toy lawnmowers and start mowing. He cannot be bothered with such details as "there is no grass to mow," and happily mows whatever he can find. Today, he was mowing the snow. The heavy snow made the project extraordinarly difficult, but he persisted and happily re-positioned the mower every time it got stuck.
I really appreciate moments like this. His complete focus and total disdain for convention are priceless. Simply put, he loves his mowers and nothing is going to stop him from mowing. Good for him! He was doing what made him happy and that is what mattered.
There is a larger lesson for all of us. We should focus on our passion. As I was outside with him, I could not help but smile. He was doing what he loved and I was doing the same by spending time with him.
