City Bus
For several weeks now, E has been asking, "When will I be old enough to ride a city bus?" He differentiates between city buses and school buses, when we pass them on the road, and talks longingly about being old enough to ride the school bus like A. (Never mind that we live too close to A's school to actually have bus service - but she has ridden one on occasion for a field trip, and E thinks that is SUPER cool.) We've been telling him that he IS old enough to ride a city bus, and it was just a matter of doing it. So today, with much anticipation, Ben and E climbed aboard the city bus after church, and A and I drove to the library near our house and looked at books for awhile until the bus arrived. E was full of excitement and proudly showed off his bus map and schedule.
We had a very late lunch and then spent the afternoon engaged in our separate activities. I had a blissful few hours to sew, and I even finished a project, though I can't detail it here since my current sewing projects are all February birthday presents for loved ones who are fellow blippers!
Ben and I made a delicious fresh veggie stir fry for dinner tonight, though I have to admit the kids preferred their can of preservative-full SpongeBob Squarepants soup. (Can you imagine?!)
All in all, a nice Sunday. The anticipation of an extra day off tomorrow makes it all the better!
