All Hail Glastonbury

First proper day of music at Glastonbury. With the ever present prediction of changing weather we arrived at The Other Stage just in time to see Kaiser Chiefs kick it all off in style.

We were well equipped for rain or sun and saw flashes of both through the rest of the morning. After enjoying a great set from Blondie and the slightly bland but tuneful John Newman we set off (with good friend Ruth) to see some of the amazing circus acts in the big top.

We returned to see the crowd pleasing Haim whose set was accompanied by a greying sky and lightning. The rain seem inevitable and as we walked to the John Peel stage the deluge of rain, what felt like hail then sustained heavy rain came. We took refuge in the John Peel tent but we were properly wet. Music went on hold for a short while before Wild Beasts and then the fantastic Chvches took to the stage (blipped here).

Finally we watched a full set by Arcade Fire on the Pyramid Stage to conclude a good day for music and rain poncho sales.
