Yet Again 1-1

Arrgh!

Once again we were oh so close and yet so far ...

Tonight we played Monkstone in the Petanque. Usually we win our first game and then struggle to concentrate in the second game. Tonight it was an exact reverse. We really struggled to be consistent in our first game. Most ends we were out of boules first, which always leaves you in trouble. Despite this we had two ends with five boules in hand and failed to capitalise and only picked up ones. We lost 13-11, which meant if we could have made some of those boules count we would have won.

The second game we played much better, and Dawn found her range. It was a tussle and 9-8 going into the serious end of the match. Dawn pointed her first boule bang on the coche, they couldn't beat it, she tend pointed the next two right next to the coche. I only needed to make one of mine count and it was game. I fluffed it. Petanque is a horrible game sometimes, if you don't take your chance that can be it. I thought this was going to happen when we lost the next end. Thankfully Dawn stuck another pearler in on the next end, and that was that 13-11 win. We are still undefeated at home.

It was a cracking evening and the opposition was great company!

Week off next week .... and then we have a grudge match!
