Miss Saigon

Fantastic evening in London tonight. Peugeot invited a group of us to see Miss Saigon, and the theatre was in the midst of the Gay Pride march celebrations, with a huge throng of people in all manner of exotic attire, from high heels and Speedo pants to Apache headdress. One guy was waving a'Free hugs' placard, and hugging anyone who would let him. So we did.

The performance was mesmerising, with a wonderful cast, stunningly good singing and the dramatic helicopter scene. Then afterwards we went backstage to see how some of the effects are done.

We walked from the theatre, through streets strewn with piles of post-march debris, to a nearby Vietnamese restaurant for a late supper. Then as an evening finale we returned to our hotel in rickshaws, and had a friendly race through the late night streets. Guess whose rickshaw won! What a night.
