Dragons & Damsels

Went on a 3-hour nature walk early this morning with our local Audubon Society. It was wonderful and I learned the difference between dragonflies and damselflies. Dragonflies have wings that are perpendicular to their bodies and damselflies have wings that run parallel to their bodies. Who knew?

His wing patterns are quite striking close up.
