Another one bites the dust

We've had very strong, freezing cold, westerly winds for days now and when that happens, trees come down.
Having the best maintained garden in the street, living at the bottom of the hill ("out of the wind"... ahem) and being the hero of Beaconsfield are insufficient for immunity.
Luckily it only clipped the corner of the roof. It could easily have been very much worse.
A pity to lose the tree, it was nice, but there you are. Down this morning and all cut up, chipped and taken away this afternoon.
