Proverb (2014.175)

Hunting around the city for interesting arrangements of letters in regard to this week's competition theme, I stumbled upon this.

This carving on the outside of The Scottish Parliament demonstrates that proverbs are only skin deep, as the building itself is groaning under the weight of waffle inside.

Having worked inside the building for a while, it worries me that on September 14th the population of Scotland is about to hand over the reins to a largely inexperienced group of politicians who are attempting to martial a juvenile institution towards some semblance of authority.

"Yes" campaigners are continually making the point that "It's not all about Salmond," and that's my real worry: behind Salmond there is Sturgeon, and... Who else? Who else in the Scottish Parliament has the gravitas to lead a political system in the first years of a nascent nation?

I think that the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament should march each MSP past this inscription on a weekly basis.
