Homeward bound -

This is the ferry from Seil to Easedale. These children are on the way home from school. Everything on Easedale is carried by this ferry, dogs, bikes, food and fuel. There are no roads or cars. At present 55 people live there. When the slate quarries were operating hundreds of people lived there and the slate was shipped out by sea.
Seil itself is also an island but has been joined to the mainland by "The Bridge over the Atlantic", shown below. The bridge is high enough for sailing ships which would have a long detour otherwise. Prior to the bridge there was a ferry at the same point.
