I worked this morning, then after lunch went over to the Southbank Centre, to have a little look at the Festival of Love, that has just opened.

It was extremely lively in the Royal Festival Hall, where members of the public of all ages, were joining in singing and dancing (you can just see them in the distance in this picture). I feared I'd be forced to join in and 'strut my funky stuff'. My funky stuff was far too tired after working all morning. so I moved away swiftly after getting a quick shot. I really liked the paper cranes you can see hanging down though, which were...hang on..just let me find the link....

1000 Acts of Kindness is a global art installation representing Agape, love of humanity.

It is part of award-winning artist Adam Quang's World Karma Project.

Using paper cranes, the installation aims to make the world a better place, one act of kindness at a time.

Take part by making a paper crane, writing an act of kindness on it, recording a pledge of kindness on video and then performing this act within 48 hours.

The 1000 Acts of Kindness crane installation has travelled across Canada and America before coming to Southbank Centre's Festival of Love.

I then went to have a look in the Museum of Broken Relationships...

When artists Drazen Brubisic and Olinka Visctica broke up in 2006, they couldn't decide who should keep their cherished wind-up rabbit toy (no, not that kind). So they made a museum for it. Since then the pair have been adding many other people's homeless objects to their gallery, including an axe used to hack up a cheater's furniture, a too-cute teddy and a not-so-cute butt plug. A visit to this archive is a great reminder that love is never really lost.

I particularly liked a little room full of Jackie Magazine 'Cathy and Claire' letters. Worth popping into for a look if you are on the South Bank. It's free too, which is always a bonus!
