Hotel Dedeman, Istanbul
Well, that's been a quick month. It's pretty much a month since I was last in a hotel, and indeed since I used my passport. It felt quite strange setting off to travel today, especially since I was the last one to leave the house.
Hotel Dedeman seems a pretty standard travellers' hotel in the 'downtown' part of Istanbul with a number of high rise buildings. I have a 15th floor room, so good views and a fair bit of air coming through the window (which remarkably opens slightly). A lot of noise too, so I will close it in a minute.
The bed feels a bit hard, but generally first impressions are quite good.
