Momma Osprey...

protecting her nest. My sister and I saw the osprey nest in the marsh, near the road. When we got out of the car to get a photo, I noticed there were 2 or 3 young chicks in the nest.
When the mother spotted us walking closer, she went into protective mode. She circled and dove over our heads. It was a little nerve wracking for a while. Even though we were really not that close, she was not going to take any chances!
I took a few good shots and then left. I'm sure if we walked any closer than we were, she surely would have dove closer toward us!
