Literally and figuratively.

We finished off the oysters at lunch today (Cynthia only had three). They are commonly served on a bed of rock salt to keep them level so that the liquid doesn't spill. We didn't have any rock salt, but C came up with the idea of using styrofoam packaging peanuts. Very ingenious, I thought!
